GM is recalling 2019 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra models to fix a software issue. 148,000+ vehicles are affected. The software problem regards warning lights for the antilock brake system (ABS), brakes, and electronic stability control (ESC) which are not illuminating properly which can drivers to not know if any of these systems are functional.
GM is recommending Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra owners to reach out to their dealership to get this issue solved immediately.
Repairs will be taken care by the dealerships free of charge for the owners. This should fix the issue but, in the event the problem comes back, vehicle owners might qualify for a partial or full refund under the California lemon law.

Chevrolet Silverado reliability rating is about 3.5 out of 5.0 while GMC Sierra's reliability rating is about 3.0 out of 5.0. Both models are trucks.
