Music from the game SOUTH OF THE CIRCLE, soundtracks, and sound design

Music (OST) author and performer: Ed Critchley. "South of the Circle" - is rather not a game, but a virtual musical novel about sad love during the Cold War. This video turned out, maybe too long, but I couldn't help it, I was so impressed by this story. The video is recorded without dialogues and subtitles, but the music conveys all the necessary feelings. The music sounds sometimes gentle, sometimes powerful, sometimes disturbing, and sometimes mystical.

The art of lo-fi music and how it changed art

The art of Lo-fi music has profoundly impacted the broader landscape of music and art. Lo-fi's emphasis on vintage equipment, crackly samples, and low-fidelity sound has inspired musicians and producers to experiment with new sounds and techniques, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in music production.

One of the key ways in which lo-fi has changed art is by democratizing the process of making music. With the rise of digital audio workstations and virtual instruments, it's now possible for anyone with a computer and a few basic pieces of equipment to create their own music. This has allowed for a wider range of voices and perspectives to emerge in the music world, leading to greater diversity and innovation in the genre.

Lo-fi's focus on nostalgia and its raw, unpolished sound has also inspired musicians to explore new ways of creating music. By using vintage equipment, lo-fi artists have been able to incorporate elements of classic analog sound into their music, which has led to a renewed interest in the use of analog instruments and recording techniques.

In terms of visual art, lo-fi music has inspired a number of artists to create works that reflect the genre's aesthetic. For example, many lo-fi music videos feature hand-drawn animations, pixel art, and other lo-fi visual styles that capture the genre's nostalgic and relaxed vibe.

Overall, the art of lo-fi music has changed the broader landscape of music and art by inspiring new sounds, techniques, and visual styles. By democratizing the process of making music and exploring new ways of creating sound and visual art, lo-fi has had a lasting impact on the music world.

Daniel Triana music bio

electronic music with dark ambient textures, exploring technology and how it relates to the arts. Prior to Daniel's solo experiments, he was the founding member of the gothic/alternative band entitled: "Bellas Artes". After several releases, the band slowly dissolved, but the music remains a pleasant memory for Daniel.

TriLab first appeared as a label and studio in 1994, prior to that, some of Daniel's music was released through a german label called: IRRE-Tapes (Kindsbach). Some of his music also appeared in the french series: Tears Compilations. Besides the conventional and purely original 3-7 minute song structure, Daniel has also composed short ambient-like snippets as in "The Color Of Sound" CD (including his more techno-structured full length compositions), as well as more longer pieces like the 15-minute "Angel en una Tormenta [Angel in a storm]" (Tears Compilations: France), along with his longest works to date, the 40-minute live/ambient/experimental piece: TriAna "Live at Trilab".

Daniel TriAna's only cover version to date is his rendition of The Sisters of Mercy's Heartland (The Various Artists Tribute CD is available on Cleopatra Records(USA)). Daniel Triana has composed soundtrack scores for graduate students at the prestigious SVA (School of the Visual Arts in New York City). These scores include original music as well as sound effects for computer and stop-motion animation pieces. Daniel is a member of the Music Producers/DJ collective; Sonic Warriors United (SWU) based in Germany.
